Dee Laffan

Dee is a freelance editor and food journalist. She currently contributes to the Irish Daily Star, Georgina Campbell’s Ireland Guides and is the Irish food blogger for OpenTable.

Dee has been part of the food media in Ireland for almost 10 years, she has previously been editor of two of Ireland’s leading food magazines: YesChef and Easy Food.

Other previous work included: editor of the Evening Herald’s Wedding Guide, deputy editor of the Irish Independent Fine Wine and Food Guide, food columnist for You & Your Money and Maternity & Infant magazines, also contributing features to the Sunday Independent, Irish Independent, the Irish Times, the Sunday Times, Hotel & Restaurant Times and the Ashford & Dromoland Castle magazines.

Dee is a passionate about food and a proud supporter of Irish food and its producers. She often gives talks at food festivals around Ireland and sits on many judging panels for national and international food competitions, including the Irish and UK Quality Food & Drink Awards, Irish Restaurant Awards, Blás na hÉireann and Great Taste Awards.

She has been a member of the Irish Food Writers’ Guild since 2012 and is their website editor. She is also Chairperson of Slow Food Dublin.
