Joanne Cronin is a food writer and blogger, with over 10 years experience. Her primary focus is on restaurant reviews, currently publishing on her Instagram account @joanne.cronin. In addition she promotes Irish food and drink across the entire island on @irishfoodscene. She has contributed to multiple publications including the Irish Times, House & Home, leading Irish food guides and podcasts. She has also been commissioned to produce independent assessment reports for restaurants.
Having lived abroad at several points in her professional career, Joanne now lives in Dublin but is a proud Cork woman. She grew up on a dairy farm in Cork’s Gaeltacht Mhúscraí (Muskerry Gaeltacht), in a family with a strong tradition of home baking, jam making and vegetable growing.
In addition to her food writing, Joanne is a Director in technology consulting for a leading professional services firm. Joanne holds a WSET Level 3 Award in Wines, in addition to a PhD in Semiconductor Physics and a BSc in Physics, both awarded by University College Cork.
