Ross Golden-Bannon


Born in Dublin in 1967 and was educated in Britain and France. He is a graduate in French, politics and economics. He worked for New Labour in the House of Commons until Summer 2000 and withdrew his name as a Parliamentary Candidate to return to Dublin to work for The Sunday Business Post. In 2008 was appointed editor of FOOD&WINE Magazine.

He has been involved in the catering industry for over 20 years, either in a full or part time capacity. His first steps on the restaurant floor were in the famed Roche’s Bistro in Malahide. In London he worked for the MKT Group which includes such renowned brands as The Chicago Rib Shack (Princess Diana’s favourite) and Henry J Beans Bar & Grill. In the King’s Road Branch of Henry J Beans in London he set up a new restaurant to back up the thriving bar trade. Ross is a consultant, copy-writer, marketeer, broadcaster and editor. He has been the restaurant critic for The Sunday Business Post since 2000 and has been widely published in other publications as well as catering trade journals and the broadcast media. In 2004 he was voted one of Ireland’s most influential restaurant critics by readers of Hotel & Catering Review. He is a judge for FOOD&WINE Magazine Restaurant of the Year Awards and a judge of the Hospitality Ireland Annual Industry Awards.
